Vision accessibility: low vision, blind, light sensitivity, and clarity challenges
This page explains how users navigate with screen readers, magnifiers, braille displays, and low-glare settings. Use the toolbar to adjust the site experience and keep those preferences across every page.
Built-in site tools (quick wins)
Low-glare support (achromatopsia / photophobia)
- Use Dim theme to reduce glare while keeping clean separation between sections.
- Try High contrast if you need strong edge definition, especially at high zoom.
- Consider enabling Underline links to make links obvious without relying on color.
Nystagmus and “tracking” support
- Increase Text size and set Spacing to Relaxed.
- Enable Reading guide and/or Reading mask to reduce visual hunting.
- Enable Reduce motion to avoid distracting effects.
Screen readers and braille displays
Screen readers and braille displays depend on structure: headings, landmarks, labels, and meaningful link text. This template emphasizes semantic HTML and predictable navigation.
- Use the Skip link to jump straight to content.
- Use heading navigation to move between sections quickly.
