Team Rockstar/WBR/Suzuki Makes a Stop in San Francisco...
Takes Home Two Top Tens
Chino,
CA - January
29, 2007 - Troy Adams and Michael Byrne came into San Francisco
with hopes of bettering their performances for the team. With
the rain
coming down during practice, it seemed like it would be long
night.
Adams came into the fourth round of the
Amp'd Mobile Supercross Series in 9th place in the Lites Class. Troy
came out in 8th place with a
5th in his heat race and 11th in the main. "My practice went perfect
and I was finally riding aggressive. I had a great pace in the heat
race with the other riders, so I was riding with confidence. Going
into the main though, it was frustrating. I was pushing hard, but I
wasn't getting anywhere since the track was so short."
Adams thought the layout of the track
was good, "Getting a bad
start or even a mid pack start makes your main event almost impossible
to get to the front. I was praying it wasn't going to rain, it didn't
and the track held up pretty good."
Michael Byrne came into the night hoping
to have better results than the weeks past. His fifth place finish
the previous week was all that
he needed to know that he and the bike were ready. "My heat race
was good, the start of the main event was tough but I salvaged it okay.
Unfortunately, I fell in the first corner and got tangled with Ramsey
in the first turn. I fell over again before the finish line on the
second lap. Once I got up and got going, I was at the back of the pack."
Despite having a rough go of the main,
Byrne said that his bike setup is great. "We didn't have to
make many changes at all this weekend. The team has done a great
job of getting my Rockstar/WBR/Suzuki where
I want it to be. I am still 5th in the points right now, so I was able
to turn two crashes into a decent finish."
"This team is poised and pointed at the podium," Team Owner
Brad Williams said. "We're ready to win."
The team will return to Anaheim again for the third and final time
this coming weekend. Adams and Byrne hope to continue their consistency
streak and put the Rockstar/WBR/Suzuki's out in front.
