Nobody chose this.

Not the body. Not the brain chemistry. Not the zip code. Not the family. Not the accident. Not the diagnosis. Not the timing.

Nobody filled out an application for their circumstances.

So maybe -- just maybe -- we start from respect and work from there.

What this is

This is not a charity. This is not inspiration. This is not a campaign to make anyone feel better about doing the bare minimum.

This is one idea: treat people like they matter before you know their story. Because you do not know their story. You never will. And they do not owe it to you.

Default respect means the respect is already there. It does not need to be earned. It does not need to be requested. It is the starting position.

Why it matters

Because every person you meet is managing something you cannot see. Pain, fear, grief, confusion, exhaustion, pride, hope -- usually several at once. That is the human condition.

When you lead with respect, you are not being soft. You are being accurate. You are acknowledging reality: this person is doing their best with what they have, same as you.

That is not a political position. That is not a movement. That is just paying attention.
